17: NE winds again this week, but MUCH stronger than last week!
A few boats were spun around in big gusts and boats flat in the water
were not uncommon. |

May 24 Today the SW wind kicked in, though gusty. Again we had some close racing. He who makes a mistake is done; no chance to make up for it. Missing marks, over early at the start will put you back. Especially if you do both in the same race! Regretfully, Bill Cope suffered a dismasting in a collision in the first race, and it was his first time out. Not the best way to start! But Bill, it’s all up hill from here! |

May 31 : Gentle SW winds today and 8 boats out, almost our entire fleet! Lots of traffic at the marks made for some interesting finishes.

you went to the back! Fantasy 32’s got some races in, but the wind was getting up. |

14 The course was set across the harbour mouth as the NE wind
was judged to strong off the point. Consequently we had to contend with
the dreaded nor-easterly and the wind swirls that come around the buildings
on the east side of the harbour. Some are better at the playing the shifts than others – congrats to Brian for a convincing win in difficult conditions. Fantasy 32’s did not race. |

28 Strong and steady winds from the SW. We completed 6 races
and decided to stop, fearing damage if we continued. Boats were heeling,
surfing, diving continuously.
Not good conditions for the Fantasy fleet so no racing at all. |

July
5 Wind strong from the SW. We set up the course in the harbour
mouth which gave up some shelter but made for shifty and variable conditions. Not good conditions for the Fantasy fleet so they not race at all. |

July 26: Blustery day with winds NE most of the time! We raced in the harbour mouth with the challenge of winds that could not make up their mind from which direction they would come, or even if they would come at all! Congratulations to our new member John Clay. Not a bad way to start off! Not good conditions for the Fantasy fleet, so they did not race. |

2: A beautiful evening! A moderate SW wind greeted us as the
course was set of the point. It proceeded to die off as the evening
progressed, however. If one of us could get the sails adjusted to the
conditions, racing may have been closer. Thanks Brian for doing some
match racing after the regular races to try and tune the rig. |

16: A beautiful evening! However the winds were NW and light
to variable in the harbour mouth. They died off as the evening progressed
resulting in the races being called after 7 were completed. We welcomed
John Lowther from Kingston by allowing him to take the day. Congrats! |
