11: The Fantasy fleet tried to race with 4 boats present, however electrical problems sidelined 2 boats. The M12 fleet had some close racing and there were the usual race “issues” that ruined the potential of many a good race. Congratulations Don for squeaking out a win! |

June 1: Another wonderful day to be racing! A nice breeze, reasonably steady from the NW and brilliant sunshine. It was not too warm. Unfortunately, only 3 M12’s were present. One of these developed control problems in the first race, and there went our day of racing. We did however run 8 races for fun using the 2 M12’s and a Fantasy 32. We determined that for the course that was set, a 45 second head start for the F32 provided a close finish.

Aug:
10 A beautiful evening for a sail. The wind was light
to moderate SSW with a few shifts just to make things interesting. The
course was set but the preferred windward mark gave us a stbd rounding.
After the second race #84 suffered a coming together with the dock (brain
fade by the skipper!) and severed the forestay. Thanks for everyone’s
patience while said skipper made repairs and readjustments to be able
to carry on. |

Aug 17: Very strong winds from the west and the course was therefore set across the harbour mouth. The wind slacked off as the evening wore on and was light by the time we were finished. The course was a windward / leeward one with the start close to the windward mark which was close to the launching ramp. The result was some shelter from the strongest winds, but extreme gusts and abrupt lulls had to be dealt with. The challenge was to be in the right place at the right time. Brian was the master of the conditions and took the day with consistent finishes. |

the new grass grow and our boats moving. |

September 14: Strong winds from the NW. The course was
set starting in the harbour mouth and extending SW as the wind was shifting
(sometimes!) as it came around the point. |

September 21: What a pleasure it was to be racing with WIND, after our experience in Ottawa on Saturday. And there was wind! It was blowing about 15 kts. from the south creating quite a chop in the harbour mouth. Additionally we had the challenge of dodging floating weed clumps that were blown in. A few of us had the misfortune to collect some over the bow as the boats plunged through the waves. The best technique was to come to weather and release the sheets allowing the boat to drift backwards hoping the weeds washed off. The other solution was to try and sail to shore to pick them off. |

| October 12: A great day on the water with 8 boats racing. Winds were mostly N with some variations thrown in for good measure. The course was set up and down the Harbour. Everyone is getting so good that one really has to be on one’s toes to succeed. Brian came back after a couple of weeks off relaxed and ready to go, squeaking out a win over Don. Congrats! | |

| October 19 : The morning winds were from the W, light but steady; ideal for the F32’s. By the time the 10 races were finished the wind was building and we were lucky to get the F32 racing completed. The F32 results will be counted towards the F32 Club Championship. | |

October
19: In the afternoon, the wind had picked up. An additional
mark was set downwind of the start line to lengthen the course. By the
time racing was called after 6 races, the wind had built to very strong
making control of the boats a challenge. As can be seen from the results,
#84 loves these conditions! |
