Relaxed Sailing at BQYC

TDepending on interest, there could be a  Training and Tuning session after each Tuesday regatta.  Our "experts" will assist those wishing to learn how to optimize their boat speed and racing techniques.

There are three series, Spring, Summer and Fall.  Each race day consists of seven races with one throwaway race.  Any number of race days will qualify for a series, but competing in 50% plus one of the racing days gives you throw-away days.  Lowest point count win of total race days wins.

Alternates location is Oak Lake.  Decision on location is made at the previous race day.  Members are also notified via e-mail.

2010 Season:

Races will be held at Victoria Park off the BQYC grounds unless otherwise noted.

Mini 12’s will race 8 races and afterwards, weather permitting, the Fantasy 32’s will race. After the M12’s have raced, course adjustments may be made as required to accommodate the sailing characteristics of the F32.

Racing start time will be 1:30 PM for May, June, September and October. Please be arrive by 1:00 to help set the course.

Racing start time will be 6:00 PM for July and August due to the BQYC sailing school. Please be arrive by 5:30 to help set the course.

Spring Series starts May 4 and continues May 11, 18, 25, June 1, 8, 15, & 22

Summer Series runs June 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, & 17

Fall Series runs August 24, 31, September 7, 14, 21, 28, October 5, & 12

Founders Cup October 19

Awards and Dinner October 26

Plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd for each Series

Trophies are awarded for the Club Championship in M12 and F32
